You ask Claude for a report. A minute later, you have a polished HTML file: clean charts, tidy tables, every figure where it should be. It looks ready to send.

Then you scroll back to the top number and feel the pull. Where did that number come from?

So you check it. Then the next one. Then the one after that. Every figure in that beautiful report is hardcoded. It's a snapshot frozen at the moment it was generated, disconnected from the underlying data. The file says 42%. You have no way to know if 42% is right without going back to the source and verifying it yourself.

This is what the visual polish hides. The HTML report looks like a finished product, but it's a dead end. The numbers don't trace back to anything. They sit on your hard drive, fixed in place, while the business keeps moving. To trust the report, you have to rebuild the audit by hand. It's the same reconciliation work the AI was supposed to take off your plate.

And once you've verified it, you still can't easily share it. It's a file. It lives on your machine. Collaboration means emailing attachments and hoping everyone's looking at the same version.
